Henfield Parish Council is opposing the inclusion of land east of Manor Close as a reserve housing site in the local development framework being drawn up by Horsham District Council.

Ninety homes are already planned for Parsonage Farm and St Peter´s Meadow in the village.

It was also felt that access to the site wasn´t good enough and that so many homes east of Manor Close would add to congestion.

There were also fears that any development would destroy the homes of stag beetles.

Other objections related to the scale of any development, potential flood risks and the village´s poor public transport.
