A warehouse in Lewes Road may be demolished to make way for two properties with gardens.
Plans have been submitted to Brighton and Hove City Council for the proposal which affects land at the rear of 148 Lewes Road.
A decision on the plans, which fall within the Valley Gardens conservation area, should be made by October 9.
The applicant is listed as Patrick Spiers, of Datafast, a company from Great Torrington in North Devon.
