Sussex Pet Rescue and Cat Welfare raised £464 during a street collection at Waitrose in Lewes on July 25. On the same day the charities raised £415 at Tesco in Lewes, making a grand total of £880.
Volunteers also raised £293 in a street collection in Hove, on August 15.
The two charities, which are run entirely by volunteers, wish to thank all those who donated and those who collected. The money raised will help towards veterinary and food bills for the animals in the care of the two charities.
