Hi to each and everyone.

Let me introduce myself. My name's Jim and I first watched Boro at Newport away when a point was needed to join Blue Square south. I drove a coach full of fans and was hooked! Over the past four seasons I have been to virtually every away game (it's great when you get to watch footy at work) and the addiction led me to most home games too! From the highs of play-off final victory at Stevenage and FA Cup appearance on Match of the Day to the lows of the Cup exit at Haverhill (no, I had to look it up too!) and we now find ourselves in the elite of non-league soccer. Are we here to make up the numbers? No way, José, as Roman used to say!

We are three games into the season and have got three points on the board. Joint favourites Rushden came and stole three points when we deserved much more. We visited joint favourites Stevenage and made light of their reputation.

The trip to Oxford really held little fear (not with the fans anyway) and what a bizarre visit it turned out to be. After six minutes, a trouncing was on the cards. After 20 odd minutes things looked much sweeter....

By the end of 90, it was a score more fitting centre court after the first set. We were disappointed at not getting anything from the game but certainly not downhearted! We did what Boro do best, refused to lay down or give in. No-one said it would be easy in Blue Square Prem, but so far, we have given a good account. Saturday we entertain joint faves (yes another one) and table toppers Cambridge United. My forecast? The game will kick off at 3pm, last 90 odd mins and there will be a result of some description.

What do you mean non-commital? My full verdict next week!
