For those of you that were too mean to buy Tuesday's Argus and read a splendid article, here is a small blog!

The journey to Wrexham was suprisingly short. Well in actual driving terms it was only four hours. Three cars of Boro faithful set off and we wondered if we would manage to have more fans there than Lewes took. As the whistle blew to begin the game, 26 Eastbourne fans were in attendance - 15 more than the Rooks effort!

It was a bit odd walking around the Racecourse Ground, bearing in mind that not only was this a ground that had seen a crowd of over 34,000 watch Manchester United play but was also a venue for international soccer. Were we, little Eastbourne Borough, really playing in such a ground!

The locals gave us nice friendly smiles as we walked into the clubhouse and once again a warm welcome was afforded. There is definitely something about this league!

The home fans had promised us a few ripe tunes as it would appear that Boro had been elected as "the team to hate" this season in a vote on a Dragons forum. It was nothing personal but someone had to be voted. I guess, in a small way, we were winners! Well they sang a few to us, then all 26 of us began a chant - not too loud, but generously applauded by the home fans.

I think it's a fair comment to say that Wrexham are by far the best we have played this term and they will be there or thereabouts for an automatic spot at the end of the season. With Dean Saunders in charge, they are a well oiled machine.

So we entered the festive period sitting 16th which is not a bad effort.

I told it was going to be a short one - you should have bought the paper!

Have a very happy New Year. See you all in 2009.
