Two paramedics arrested in an investigation into whether a dying man was ignored because of the state of his house have been rebailed.
Paramedic Karl Harris, 44 and ambulance technician Ben Stokes, 35, were arrested on December 5 on suspicion of failing to perform their duty in a public office.
The arrests came six days after they were called to the home of Barry Baker, 59, who had dialled 999 saying he thought he was having a heart attack.
Mr Baker collapsed while on the phone to operators and when the ambulance crew arrived at his house, the landline was still open.
At the other end of the line, operators are said to have heard the medics making derogatory comments about the state of Mr Baker’s house in Braybon Avenue, Patcham, Brighton, and discussing whether to revive him.
Both men have been suspended by South East Coast Ambulance Service and have been rebailed until February 26 while police continue their investigation.
