For those of you that normally log on to read some funny old prose about the past week in Boroughland, log out again now and save time and effort reading. I have my Mr Grumpy head on this week.

The weekend fiasco in Cheshire has been well documented both in this illustrious publication and on the various fans forums but I wanted to add a personal note to it all. With an 8.30am departure from the Lane to Alty and an ETA of 2.15pm I was looking forward to a game of footy and visiting a new ground. What did I get? That's right, a numb backside!

Oh we drove through some stunning scenery with beautiful white fields stretching for miles and bathed in winter sunshine. We took the call at 10am to say game on. As we approached the last couple of junctions on the M6, it was the call we hadn't expected. To the credit of the supporters on the coach, they took it in good spirits, although there was a lot of mutterings. We did toy with the idea of looking for an alternative match to watch, but as we drove back past Walsall ground that too appeared deserted. No footy? Decision was made to hot foot it back to Sussex.

Now I can understand that a referee has to take into consideration many aspects but some Altrincham fans said the pitch was worse the previous Tuesday when a mid-weeker went ahead! All we wanted was 90 minutes of soccer. What makes me wonder is that as both teams were either at, or very close to the ground, surely it would have been a sensible move to make a further inspection at 2pm, especially as the sun was blazing down and had heat in it. Maybe Mr Harrington had a more pressing engagement that evening!

So with nothing much to report from Saturday, where does that leave a poor blogger? Chat about the Premiership? I don't think so! Everything "Boroughesque" had turned to postponed! So, the only football related subject left is "FaceBook". Well without boring you all to tears, my latest stats are as follows! Played 173, won 89, lost 58 and drawn 26. World ranking is now 31,907! There is a lot of fellow Boro fans on there and it's quite a hoot - and I have Andy Atkin on my bench! If any of you reading this are on FB then look into the Premier Football application and join in! You may even find a couple of Looes fans to taunt and beat! (Actually Kieran, the Lewes blogger is currently whopping my ass at it, shame he doesn't spend more time blogging!) Well, I have now settled down to watch the international from Spain. Big derby this Saturday versus Crawley and segregation at the Lane for the first time this season. Let's hope for a good spirited game both on and off the pitch. See you all in seven days' time.
