A car was torched in a deserted car park.
Police called firefighters to the spot near the junction of Falmer Road and Bexhill Road, Woodingdean, at about 9.30pm on Tuesday.
A Seat Leon car was completely destroyed by the blaze.
Firefighters said it was so badly damaged it was impossible to tell what colour it was.
