An elderly man and his his pet have been struck by a car as they walked along the A259 near Brighton Marina.
The man, who is in his 70s, was out with his dog when he was struck by a Volkswagen car on the A259 at around 5.30pm today (Wednesday).
The incident happened outside the Marine Gate block of flats near the Marina, Brighton.
The unnamed man and his pet dog were loaded into an ambulance.
The man was taken to The Royal Sussex County Hospital and the dog was dropped off on the way at a local vets.
A police spokesman said their injuries were as yet unknown and they are still investigating the incident.
