Diners were forced to flee a burning restaurant after a fire started in a basement.
Customers at Pizza Express in High Street, East Grinstead, were evacuated at about 5.50pm yesterday.
The fire is thought to have started in a fusebox.
No-one was injured. Firefighters spent nearly three hours at the scene.
The blaze is not thought to have spread to the rest of the building.
