So Worthing Borough Council leader Keith Mercer thinks he can fool people all of the time (The Argus, April 14).
Disguising the town’s traffic warden uniforms to be less colourful does not solve the problem. Worthing is not Beijing with 28 million people or hasn’t he noticed?
The current blue uniform gives residents and visitors a chance to move on when they spot them at the top of the road. Remember, traffic wardens had to start patrolling in pairs because of assaults.
Nothing can be done about the Mayfair prices charged in Worthing. The contract was signed – and what a gravy train it has turned out to be.
The council should work for council taxpayers and the voters, not to make unlimited profit from them.
