It was good to read coverage of the last market day near Brighton Station and the first at Brighton Marina (The Argus, April 20).

From what I heard, though, most people are hoping the three-month stay at the marina is only temporary and the market can return to the station site.

There is confusion over why, after 27 years of cordial relations with the station during which time there have been numerous engineering works at weekends, there is a difference. It is unlikely engineering works will continue for much longer meaning the market should return. Personally, not being a car owner and despite getting up very early in the morning to make the journey, I find it difficult as I need to get two buses to the marina.

This is not normally a problem but Sunday morning services are poor. Last Sunday it took one hour from the Roundhill area to the marina ,including a lot of walking.

I fear many people who used to get the train to Brighton Station and walk across to the former market site will be reluctant to embark on a long bus journey – waiting perhaps 40 minutes or more.

Can the move be better co-ordinated to take into account the needs of the non-drivers of Brighton, perhaps with additional early morning buses to match the additional late night post-nightclub buses recently put in service?
