I MUST agree with Adam Trimingham (The Argus, April 15) about the many public loos that have closed and an acute shortage of them.

Once we had seven on the seafront. If an employer didn’t supply enough toilets for his staff he would be prosecuted by health and safety, yet the council can shut them down as they please.

With the population getting bigger it’s more we need, not less. If anyone gets caught relieving themselves in the street and gets fined, the council should pay the fine.
