Last weekend, I mentioned going to Goodwood. While it wasn’t overly sunny and I didn’t win any money, it didn’t rain, I didn’t lose any money and I had a whole lot of champagne fuelled fun. I rarely plug my company, but Pegasus were great at looking after us, from giving us money to bet with, arranging transport there and back, feeding us and just in general being a fun bunch, it was a great evening. While I appreciate not everyone’s company will take them to Goodwood, if anyone is on the look out for bonding events, this is a great option, everyone gets a chance to dress up and let their hair down by shouting at horses who can’t hear you while they run around a track.

While this was fun, there was another part of the weekend that was not as much. We thought it would be nice to go on a day trip to Newhaven. I am not sure why we went, but I know I will never go back there again and that’s about all I have so say about the town Newhaven.

We did however enjoy strolling around the nooks and crannies of Lewes – it was a shame we went on a Sunday as many of the shops were shut, however we were still able to soak up the quaint atmosphere – and bag ourselves a great value roast. The pub just as you go up the hill from the station serves 2 roasts for a fiver. Boy, they give you a healthy serving of meat and gravy and the potatoes are nice and crisp. In my book that is all you need for a fantastic roast.

This weekend we’ve booked ourselves in at Adur outdoor activity centre for some outdoor kayak lessons. Now I may be being naïve but do you really need lessons? Apparently so and to add insult to injury I am booked on the beginners’ course, despite whining that I have Kayaked before and was fine – put me on advanced! It is session one of two of my beginner session and I am sure I’ll update you next week.

Apart from that the only other adventure I have to share (and what is taking up most of my life at them moment) is that I am in the middle of moving house – so while I would love to share experiences of buying sofas, getting beds stuck in hallways and looking forward to spending a day at Ikea over the weekend, I will save you this once!!
