Firefighters had a busy night as storms brought lightning strikes and floods to Sussex.
Houses and pubs in Burgess Hill, Brighton, Shoreham and Worthing were struck by lightning.
Heavy rain also overwhelmed drains in some areas.
In Kemp Town a tin canopy fell 50ft from scaffolding onto cars parked at a block of flats.
Firefighters dealt with fallen trees and a steady stream of fire alarms started by the violent weather, which began at about 7.30pm and affected parts of the county throughout the night.
