Two cars were torched in early-morning arsons.
A crew from Preston Circus fire station spent an hour putting out a burning Vauxhall Nova on land behind Lynchet Close, Hollingdean.
They had to run hoses for 100m to reach the blaze after they were called at 6.30am.
A crew from Roedean community fire station was called to a burning Volkswagen Polo in Bexhill Road, Woodingdean, at 6am.
Anyone with information about the fires is asked to call Sussex Police on 0845 6070999.
