A telecoms worker was seriously injured when he was electrocuted by a power cable.
The man touched an overhead power cable while working in Powdermill Lane, Catsfield, near Battle, on Wednesday.
The accident happened at about 5pm.
The man was taken to hospital.
The Health and Safety Executive and detectives from Rother CID are investigating what happened.
