IN reply to Dr M F Earthy’s letter about the new bus lane on the A259 (The Argus, August 26), as a regular rush-hour traveller to Brighton from Newhaven I would like to say how wonderful it is to leave Newhaven at 8.30am and be in Brighton by 8.55am.
Before the bus lane it could sometimes take an hour or an hour and a half to get there. I would also like to say what a good service we get from Brighton and Hove Bus Company and what nice friendly drivers we have on this route.
If you buy your tickets online you can save quite a bit of money so it makes a lot more sense to catch the bus and save the environment rather than taking a car into Brighton with the high cost of parking.
