A company is in discussions with Brighton and Hove City Council over plans to put an ice rink in Royal Pavilion Gardens.

The firm wants to bring a temporary ice rink to the gardens during the festive period.

The council has confirmed it has been approached over the idea for the rink but said it had not received a planning application yet.

Brighton and Hove has not had a permanent ice rink since the Queens Square rink closed in 2003.

A temporary plastic rink was set up outside the library in Jubilee Square in June.
