Councillors at Telscombe Town Council were forced into a U-turn on Tuesday night when they had to abandon their plans to consider selling the Tye (The Argus, November 13).
We would like to say a big thank you and congratulations to the large number of residents who attended a full council meeting to tell the councillors, in no uncertain terms, that they would not countenance the selling of the Tye.
Thank you also to the many people who could not attend but responded to our petition to make their feelings known. The councillors have promised not to sell the Tye prior to the next town council elections in May 2011.
