Apparently we now have a President of Europe and some kind of European foreign minister.

The ordinary citizens of Europe, of course, were not consulted about this – it was all stitched up over dinner.

Few in this country have previously heard of either of these appointees – an obscure Belgian and an even more obscure Labour peer who has never been democratically elected. These people are now presumably licensed to jet about the world in our name, and at our expense.

And so this fantasy federalism creeps ever onward – appropriating fresh powers to itself, disenfranchising the people it claims to serve, handing down its diktats, meddling with our lives and nannying us about, while those in charge of it feed from their gilded troughs.

Let me say that I for one acknowledge no allegiance whatever to this so-called president, nor indeed to any of them.
