Why Dave Bonwick should regard me as a member of a “team” in his response to my letter about Brighton and Hove City Council’s proposed 2.5% increase in council tax is beyond me (Letters, November 21). I am just an ordinary man with a point of view and I am not afraid to express my viewpoint through the Letters column. My views are entirely my own.
Mr Bonwick rightly points out that due to inflation being so low, the next round of council tax increases should be the lowest of recent years.
I agree, but has he not heard already the cries and warnings of Tory councils? I hope, for the benefit of all, that the councils will succeed in their aims. If they do, I also hope they will readily thank the Labour Government for the low rate of inflation that has helped them achieve their targets.
