Two men held up a garage at knifepoint to steal cash and cigarettes.

The robbery took place at Piltdown Service Station on the A272 at Piltdown, near Uckfield, at around 4.30pm on Monday afternoon.

Both brandished knives and threatened the attendant before taking around £200 in notes from the till and cigarettes.

Both men then ran from the shop and were last seen turning right towards Maresfield.

They are described as white, the first in a white hoodie with a blue and red emblem on the front, wearing a cap underneath and a green scarf over his face.

He was also wearing black trousers and black shoes.

The second man was wearing a black hoodie with a black hat underneath and a black scarf, combat trousers and boots.

Detective Sergeant Lloyd Lewis from Wealden CID said: "A vehicle was not seen, but we believe that the men may have had one in the immediate vicinity.

"We would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the attack or who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area around that time or even in the few days previously."
