Detectives investigating a series of violent robberies at elderly people's rural homes have made an arrest.
Since September three homes, at Hadlow Down, near Crowborough, Nutley, near Uckfield, and Ditchling have been raided by masked men.
Police said they believed the people were targeted because the robbers believed they kept large amounts of cash at their homes.
The most recent raid took place in Ditchling last Thursday night.
Officers confirmed last night they had arrested one man and were questioning him.
No further details of the development have yet been released.
Anyone with information about the raids is asked to call Sussex Police on 0845 6070999.
