It will definitely snow in Worthing this winter after the community rallied round to win a national competition.

The town may even get a visit from fiery TV chef Marco Pierre White.

Worthing has beaten off competition from the likes of Brighton and Guildford to scoop one of the top prizes offered by phone giant Nokia.

It will mean four tents being erected in Steyne Gardens on Saturday.

One will contain a machine making real snow and there will also be live reindeers, plus elves.

The invitation-only event will be split into two halves – one for children in the afternoon, and an adults-only session, with mulled wine, in the evening.

Town centre manager Sharon Clarke described it as a real community effort.

It was not known which of the five winners would receive a visit from Marco Pierre White, who will prepare a Finnish feast at the chosen venue.

The event coincides with Worthing Town Centre Initiative's Christmas shopping launch in Montague Street on November 28.
