OnE evening at 5.50pm I went to the post box at the corner of Eaton Gardens and Eaton Villas in Hove. The notice on the box says the last pick-up is at 6.15pm.
The Royal Mail collection van was double parked with the engine idling, presumably waiting for the pick-up time. The driver saw me arrive at the post box, carrying a batch of first class mail, upon which he promptly drove away.
My post did not arrive at its destination by first class post, for which I had paid. The letters arrived on November 18.
