A man and woman were arrested after an attempted 'car-jacking' in Brighton.
A woman told police she was threatened with a knife by a man who demanded she hand over her car in Cannon Place, behind Churchill Square shopping centre, at about 3.55pm on Tuesday.
The man left when passers-by heard the woman cry for help.
Police stopped a bus in London Road, Brighton, outside a 99p shop, and ordered two people off.
A 41-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery, carrying an offensive weapon and resisting arrest.
A 35-year-old woman from Preston was also arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery.
They are both being questioned in custody this morning.
The victim, a woman from Hove, was described as shaken but uninjured.
