A father who was killed by a falling branch in a freak accident is expected to be identified today.
The 34-year-old builder was driving home along Bramlands Way near Henfield on Monday lunchtime when he was struck by a branch from an oak tree.
The wood crumpled the cab of his VW Transporter and he was pronounced dead shortly after 12.40pm.
The branch fell in winds of up to 50mph.
Yesterday Sussex Police said they couldn't yet release his name as his relatives were still due to identify him and there had been problems contacting next of kin.
