People driving home this evening have spotted lightning flickering over Brighton and Hove.

The city could be in for a repeat of last nights thunder, lightning and hail storms.

Sara Brown of Rottingdean woke up this morning to find a lightning bolt had brought her roof down.

The turbulent weather that has plagued the county for the last two weeks looks set to continue over the weekend.

The MET Office are predicting at least three days of heavy rain.

A spokesman said: "There is a moderate risk of severe weather affecting southern England.

"Heavy rain is expected to spread eastwards during Saturday morning.

"This is likely to give 25-30 mm of rain locally, falling on to already saturated ground."
