Oh people get a life and stop complaining.

I am referring to the people who have complained about the noisy music being played when Debenhams puts on its mega-days promotions.

I am the person who plays the music in store and outside.

I am not Fatboy Slim and I do not attract thousands of people to my gigs at Debenhams.

The music I play is from the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s with a few party tunes thrown in but the last mega-day was nearly enough for me to give it up.

One very rude woman accused me of polluting the air of Eastbourne with my music.

Why shouldn’t Debenhams try to liven Eastbourne up during the recession?

I am 60 years old myself and if not DJing at the store I am often Santa, a role I have played at various locations during the past ten years.

At Debenhams the manager likes me to come out of the grotto and walk round the store and talk to the customers and have a laugh.

Now I find some Eastbourne people have no sense of humour and one lady complained to head office saying a remark I made to her husband was insulting.

He had a large belly and I pointed at it and said “I bet that cost a lot of money.”

The next thing I know I am in the manager’s office.

Anyone who knows me or sees me as Father Christmas loves the way I play Santa but I must say this complaint has really upset and hurt me.

I would just like to add that I will be at the turning on of the Christmas lights with Dame Vera Lynn in the Arndale Centre this weekend – with my Santa hat on.
