These three martial arts-loving pensioners have swapped pensions for punches - and have just gained their black belts.

Tess Wilkins, 66, Mariannick Atkinson, 63, and Mick Bensley, 65, say their lives have been transformed since taking up Choi Kwang Do.

In fact Mick, an artist from High Street, Rottingdean, attends Choi For Life classes twice a day when he can as part of his healthy living regime.

Mariannick, of Bazehill Road, Rottingdean, decided to take up Choi Kwang Do instead of yoga.

Despite being due her second hip replacement, 66-year-old Tess from Westbrook, Saltdean, passed her black belt with ease.

The retirees have been helped by chief instructor Eugene Butcher from the Oceans Wellbeing Centre in High Street, Rottingdean.
