A super save from Rikki Banks kept Lewes level at half-time in their FA Trophy tie at Hampton and Richmond.
Ian Hodges seemed certain to score in the 31st minute when he connected with John Scarborough's centre but Banks reacted superbly to push the shot away.
Hampton had the better chances but there was not much between the teams in the opening 45 minutes.
David Wheeler was Lewes' liveliest player and he had their only real effort of note, cutting inside from the right and sending in a low left-footed shot which keeper Matt Lovett held.
