A pedestrian was seriously injured when he was knocked down by a car.
The man, believed to be in his 60s, was hit by a black Ford Focus in Malling Street, Lewes, shortly after 7pm yesterday.
He was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton with serious injuries.
The road was closed while police and paramedics worked at the scene.
