A pensioner has been seriously injured after being hit by a car.
The 78-year-old woman, from Hailsham, received multiple injuries after being hit be a red Renault Laguna as she crossed South Road in Hailsham.
She was taken to Eastbourne District General Hospital following the incident which happened at about 5.40pm yesterday.
The female Renault driver, who is from Eastbourne, was uninjured.
South Road was closed until just before 9pm.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident to call 0845 6070999, quoting operation Maybush.
