What a load of tosh that Mark Prior should write to residents about Parking in the London Road station area saying plans to introduce a proposed scheme in roads nearby might have an effect on parking in our roads. The parking situation is already more difficult since the introduction of the scheme in Preston Park.

When is the scheme going to stop or be radically rethought?

How can it be right that Preston Park Avenue now has masses of parking space but the inner road of the park is fully congested?

How can it be right that a road such as Dyke Road Drive is empty of cars due to the introduction of meters?

Hove Park Road is similarly empty of cars? Where have they all gone? Gone to clog up nearby roads and make the situation even worse.

Since the parking scheme started next to Preston Park, the large vans have moved into Preston Drove and Surrenden Road and cars have moved into Stanford Avenue, Rugby Road and Florence Road. Does the council believe the public don’t see its plans as a money-making scheme?

Parking schemes do not increase the number of available parking spaces, they just increase council revenue. Car parking is the new council tax.
