Two women were rescued from a bungalow blaze.
Fire crews helped the women to safety after the fire which started in the ground floor bedroom of the two-storey converted bungalow in Normandy Drive, East Preston, near Littlehampton, at around 8.10am.
One elderly woman was taken to Worthing Hospital with burns.
It is unclear how severe her injuries were.
It is thought the fire was started accidentally.
A spokeswoman for West Sussex Fire and Rescue said: "We did assist two females from the premises, one of them was in wheelchair.
"We do not know yet how it has been caused. Fire investigators are at the scene."
