I have been a member of the Regency Society for several years. Audrey Simpson and Delia Forester have continually contributed a great deal of their time, expertise and support to the Society.
I was aware of the situation you recently reported on (The Argus January 28) but, having been abroad thought the matter had been closed.
Audrey and Delia had apologised and this had been accepted by the committee. On my return to Brighton I was appalled to find that a group of novice members had called a meeting which I do not think should have been authorised.
This is wasting time, expense and creating unnecessary bad feelings for the Regency Society, over a matter I believed had reached closure.
I am concerned that a small group of fairly new members can behave in such a bullish and destructive manner.
I do hope all members will attend the meeting and vote against this vendetta against Audrey and Delia.
