Albion manager Mark McGhee today asked his players to stand up and be counted in the fight for Championship survival.

The Seagulls are in the relegation zone for the first time since the first month of the season as they try to end a run of six straight defeats against draw specialists Leicester at Withdean on Saturday.

McGhee said: "There is no ambiguity about it now, we are in the bottom three and we must get out of it. To do that we have to win a match and that is what we will be trying to do on Saturday.

"We are going to regroup, see who is fit and able to play and I've said to the players I want to see on their faces who wants to play on Saturday, who wants to get out there and get a result for us.

"I still believe there is a result or two in us. It probably remains true that we will have to win a couple of games although Watford and Crewe, like ourselves, seem to be struggling for results. That keeps us with some hope."

McGhee's already small squad has been decimated by injuries, suspensions and loans. He has only 14 outfield players with first team experience for the Leicester game.

Leon Knight begins a two-match ban on Saturday and Gary Hart is also suspended following his red card in Tuesday's 3-0 defeat at Preston.

McGhee said: "The loss of those two through suspension doesn't make it any easier, but we are not about to throw in the towel."

Coventry pulled three points clear of Albion at the bottom of the table with a 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest last night.
