Born in London to African parents, Ola Onabule (full name Olatunji Olugbenga Omotayo Olanrewaju Adetokunbo Abdul Majeed Onabule) grew up in Nigeria.

Returning to Britain as a young man in the Seventies, he studied for a law degree but dropped out in the final year - it wasn't the Bar that had captured his attention but the capital's jazz clubs and music venues.

From Ola's first single, 1994's You'd Better Believe, to his fifth album - In Emergency Brake Silence - released this September, his career has been one of critical acclaim.

Possessing a voice described by Blues And Soul Magazine as "a lived in, soul drenched, well mastered instrument", his songs resonate with the influences of Otis Redding and Stevie Wonder, rich in melody and infectious rhythms.

In the live arena his passionate, energetic performances have led to support slots with Natalie Cole and Gladys Knight.

Undoubtedly one of Britain's best kept musical secrets, Ola Onabule is revealed at the Komedia.
