The man behind the Big Brother web site has left the digital media company he joined ten years ago.

Jason George joined Brighton-based Victoria Real in 1994 and became creative director.

At the time the company, now based in London, was diversifying into interactive media and became a leader in interactive television and web design. It had been founded in 1990 as a traditional TV production company.

The Dutch entertainment company Endemol, maker of Big Brother, acquired a 50 per cent stake in the firm in 2000 and the companies entered into partnership.

Mr George, who became chief executive last year, said: "Hanging around at Victoria Real any longer is not the right thing for me."
