At last, a voice from the wilderness proclaims "put a stop to being negative".

RG Jenkins wrote, "People who disapprove of our prime minister and say Blair must go should also tell us who they think is capable of taking his place" (Letters, June 25).

I couldn't agree more. After all, I was taught never to criticise unless one is prepared to make it constructive criticism.

In other words, if you're going to knock it down, tell us what to put in its place.

Many people are aware of a whole range of "wannabes" waiting in the wings but how many of them have the guts, energy and determination of the prime minister?

I say Mr Blair should stay put, at least until there's something other than wimps on the horizon.
