There is a growing concern in Sussex regarding mobile phone masts, Tetra in particular and rightly so. The health implications are enormous.

I was quite alarmed while visiting a friend in the Hanover district of Brighton last week.

I have an A-Com microwave monitor, a highly sensitive instrument that detects emissions from phone masts, including Tetra.

The A-Com screamed and pulsed to such a degree that I decided to investigate the extent of the exposure in part of the district.

It was an eye-opener.

Southover Street and some of the roads leading off were affected. Some parts were protected, others highly exposed.

The most alarming discovery was found inside my friend's home. Every room was affected, even the bedroom.

Your home should be your sanctuary. This one is not. It is caught in a cross-fire of deadly microwaves emitting from the masts on the rooftops of Brighton. I wonder how many other homes are affected?

I would like to publicly alert the Environmental Health Department about this situation and urge immediate investigation.

Perhaps it should now be council policy to provide shielding material for the homes that are most exposed.

After all, this situation is not going to go away.

If the council allows these masts to be erected everywhere, then it should take responsibility and protect the health of its citizens.

Anyone wishing to obtain their own monitor can do so by contacting A&J Philips on 01353 778814 who hire them out at a reasonable cost or Nick Clough 0207 486 6837 who sells them.

Something must be done about this. It is far too serious for apathy.
