I want to congratulate Lynn Daly in opposing the UK hosting the Olympics (The Argus, May 25).
Our services are in such a state right now and we are all told to tighten our belts. However, there are always millions of pounds (of taxpayers' money) available for Britain to show off.
My parents always used to say charity begins at home.
Of course, I still wish our entrants all the very best of success.
