Sharing a transatlantic flight with boozy Paul Calf would make most people squirm.

But Virgin Atlantic passengers have the option after the airline signed a deal with Steve Coogan's TV production company.

The Crawley-based airline will be showing TV comedies made by Baby Cow Productions, including Human Remains and Marion and Geoff.

The company was set up by Hove-based Coogan and his writing partner Henry Normal five years ago.

It has spawned a string of hits, such as Paul and Pauline Calf's Cheese and Ham sandwich, which will be shown exclusively on Atlantic's alternative comedy channel V.comedy 2.

Emma Gesto, Virgin Atlantic's TV acquisitions executive, said: "Steve and the Baby Cow team produce some of the best comedy in the UK."
