Captain Gaylon Moore says his double-chasing Worthing Thunder side have more answers than ever before.

He just hopes they help his men score a win double in the league this weekend to add to their EBL Trophy final place.

While Bears head to Sheffield for a semi-final on Saturday, Thunder have already done their bit in the steel city.

They clinched a shoot out for the silverware with Sutton Pumas by hanging on for a 78-74 win in last Saturday's semi at City of Sheffield.

Now the emphasis returns to the league, where they can boost their claims for top spot by winning at Kingston on Saturday (7.30pm) and Plymouth on Sunday (4pm).

Moore said: "We need to get both of these wins. If we do, I'm not going to say we've secured our place at the top but we've helped ourselves out a whole lot. In previous seasons we would have have been fighting for fifth or sixth place about now but this time we're going for top spot.

"The difference is we have more options now. It can be a different top scorer every game and the players are learning to understand that."

Sheffield had a shot to tie up Saturday's semi having been 21 points down just after the half.

The attempt missed, David Butterworth rebounded and Thunder closed the game out.

Moore, however, insisted: "Any team will make a run at some time but I always felt like we were in control. They had a shot to tie it up but, no disrespect, I didn't think they were going to win the game.

"We've got to forget about the final now. Some people don't want to but we've got games in between and we're looking at the bigger picture."

Thunder will tackle Sutton in the final at Worcester on March 6.

The Pumas got there with a shock win over Plymouth and will be tough opponents given they are led by former Thunder captain Paul Mundy-Castle.
