Hastings United slumped to defeat away to Dartford with all the goals coming in a devastating six-minute second-half spell.

Hastings had been much the better team in the first half but their failure to turn chances into goals came back to haunt them soon after half time.

The Darts opened the scoring on 52 minutes when Paul Sykes shot low beyond Will Toal and soon after Tostoa Kwashi claimed a fine individual goal and Ted Ansell fired in a third from the edge of the box.

Hastings, who made four changes to the team that lost 5-1 at home to leaders Tonbridge Angels on New Year's Day, had gone close to taking the lead through Mitchell Sherwood but keeper Jimmy Simpson made a fine save.

Simpson also pulled off a couple of smart stops to deny captain Stuart Myall, while Carl Rook almost struck late in the first half but a ricochet off his knee looped over the crossbar.
