Wick halted Pease Pottage's mini revival with a 2-1 success at Finches Field.

They had to come from behind after Lee May put the hosts ahead on 26 minutes.

Tony Miles swept home the equaliser for his sixth goal of the season and Glen Souter hit the winner 20 minutes from time after following up his own shot which had been pushed on to the crossbar.

Wick boss Andy Gander said: "We viewed this as a tricky fixture and I am glad to get the three points.

"Division one is quite competitive this season and the same could be said about division two.

"There are lots of teams with an eye on promotion and I am pleased we are in touch with the top three."

Peacehaven bounced back from a couple of sorry defeats with an impressive 3-0 win away to Wealden.

Dan Hamilton headed Peacehaven into an early lead and Tom Freeman added a second before half time.

Jon Digby scored the third early in the second half from Hamilton's cross and it could have been more as Jim Devers (2) and Jason Stepney were denied by fine saves from Wealden keeper Graham Leach.

Peacehaven boss Mick Maskell said: "The key thing is for us if we score early on we grow in confidence and start to play well."

Crawley Down produced their second smash and grab raid on Seaford this season.

Earlier in the campaign Seaford led from the second minute only to concede twice late on to lose 2-1 and a similar thing happened on Saturday.

Duncan Kneller's side led 1-0 until seven minutes from time when Darren Tidey struck twice to secure victory for the visitors.

Chris Stanyard had fired Seaford ahead on 64 minutes with a cool finish from Simon Halsey's pass but Dan Sullivan set up Tidey for an 83rd minute equaliser and the same player struck again with a tremendous first time strike on the stroke of full time.

In the second round of the Division Two Cup, the clash of the top two sides in the league resulted in a 2-0 win for leaders Worthing United away to Midhurst and Easebourne.

The hosts had Justin Thorpe sent off for violent conduct after 30 minutes but Worthing were already in control thanks to goals from Peter Brackley and Lee Weston.

Worthing boss Ian Browne said: "We should have scored more. We missed three sitters but I would have settled for 2-0 before kick-off."

In second round replays, Mile Oak beat Lancing 2-0 and Westfield won 2-1 at Steyning Town.

Mile Oak stretched their unbeaten run to four games thanks after a comfortable win at Culver Road. Paul Eaton set up Clive Jackson for the opener and then scored a tremendous second himself.

Manager Anthony Whittington took some credit for the opening goal. He said: "Clive started on the left but we had switched him to central midfield just seconds before he scored his goal."

Duncan Jones gave Westfield the lead at Steyning with a penalty after Sam Jamison had been brought down. Dominic Clarke headed in a second on the half-hour mark from Alan Johnson's cross and, although Will Jago reduced the deficit before half time, Westfield defended well after the interval.
