Three Bridges boss Sammy Donnelly insists the County League is the most exciting it has been for years after his side moved back up to fifth in division one.

With some teams approaching the halfway stage of the season, it is impossible to predict who will emerge as champions in May.

Saturday's results left the top six teams separated by just seven points and the top 13 sides split by just 15 points, not a lot when you consider some have four games in hand on their rivals.

Donnelly said: "I don't think there is any difference between the sides at bottom of the league and the sides at the top.

"There are no Burgess Hills in the league this year.

"It makes it interesting and competitive. It gives every team hope wherever they are in the table."

Scott Langridge gave Three Bridges the lead against East Preston, slotting home after a Damian Webber header from a corner hit the bar, and Kris Trevor doubled the advantage 11 minutes from time from Danny Smith pass.

Lee Farrell pulled one back with seven minutes to go.

Donnelly said: "It was a great advert for Sussex football. Both teams competed ever so well."
