I completely agree with Martin White. Brighton and Hove is a complete mess.
I too was born in Brighton and lived there until the late Seventies.
I still visit Brighton a lot and have family and friends there but it's not the same Brighton I grew up in and loved as a child.
It's a total mess.
Look at the West Pier, which I used to enjoy fishing off - now a tangled mess of twisted iron.
Then we come to the Old Steine Gardens, with their mucky brown surface, which was at once lush green grass.
Now it's a picnic area, with bodies lounging listening to loud music and sleeping off the previous night's drinking binge. No wonder the grass has given up the ghost.
