I read with some amusement Fred Boulden's letter (October 30) about a satellite dish being installed without permission on a listed building - a dish that could be clearly seen from the street but that the council's blinkered staff could not see.

I'm not a betting person but I would offer him a wager that these blinkered, ineffectual council workers will not get the offending dish removed within 12 months.
